2007 Community Survey, Statistics South Africa
Key findings of the 2007 Community Survey of Statistics South Africa regarding Dihlabeng include the following;
- 80.7 % of households lived in a formal dwelling which increased from the 63.3 % recorded in the 2001 Census.
- Informal dwellings in informal settlements decreased from 24.5 % (Census 2001) to 11.5 %.
- 52.2 % of households owned fully-paid off dwellings which increased from 33 % recorded in the 2001 Census.
- 58.8 % of households have access to piped water inside the dwelling which is a significant increase from the 25 % indicated in the 2001 Census.
- The percentage of households using electricity for cooking increased from 41.3 % (Census 2001) to 70.1 % whilst a further 85.5 % of households use electricity for lighting.
- 81.9 % of households have access to refuse removal by the municipality at least once a week which increased from 64.8 % in the 2001 Census.
